Hello and welcome to my blog! I'm Katlyn and I'm a security engineer. I have been in the tech industry since 2017 and throughout my time in the industry, I've worked at three organizations. In every role, I worked primarily with men, which was initially very intimidating. It took a long time for me to gain confidence in myself and my knowledge and start feeling like I belonged.

In October of 2020, I decided to start a security blog on Medium and began writing about information security topics. My first article about being a Woman in IT took off, and since then, the blog has gained amazing traction. It's given me an avenue to show other young girls and women interested in tech or security careers that they can do it too.

While I love writing about tech and infosec topics, I also love sharing tips that can help other people lead more intentional and productive lives. I truly believe we all have something to offer one another and the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy behind, and through my blog, I hope to motivate and inspire others to challenge themselves and try new things often.

On my blog, you'll find posts relating to my job in information security and my professional growth, along with stories about my day-to-day life as it relates to my career, health and fitness, and productivity and motivation.
